Steel Parking Garage Gate Vs. Car

Friday was a good day for Morena Welding. Sean and Jose, with some help from Emro, installed a huge replacement underground parking garage gate. The original one we had made was bent by a smart guy trying to beat the door opener and, well, he didn't. He must have hit it with some momentum because the three inch square steel frame was bent at least a couple of degrees. So, this time we made a thicker gate just in case another person is in a hurry and decides to attack it with their automobile. It took four strappingly strong men to lift the gate into place, and two cubicle dwelling sales people to help balance it while in motion. This residential complex has given us a couple service jobs after installations. It seems they have residents that like to try and beat garage door openers, they must be busy people. While we were installing that gate on one side of the complex there was another gate on the other side that was also hit by a resident. This time the collision ripped the spring right off its steel bracket. Again, must have been a heavy hitter. It is ironic that by trying to beat these gates, because of being in a hurry, some of the residents break them and cause the entrance, exit to be closed, which makes them use another side that takes them longer to get to. More work for us though. We also did many of their pool entry gates at the complex. Just another day working with Morena Welding.

There are a lot of different garage door opening mechanisms available, but the chances are that not all of them will fit your garage. This article will tell you what the basic fitting considerations are for each garage door type, e.g. roller, "up and over", sliding etc.
